Police presence was increased at Hahnville High School Friday morning after officials were made aware of an unsubstantiated social media threat.
The officers were present out of an abundance of caution.
The concern comes amid days of increased scrutiny on school security after 17 people were killed during a school shooting in Parkland, Florida last week. Multiple arrests were made around the New Orleans area in the past several days over threatening social media posts.
One student in Jefferson Parish allegedly turned up in a picture on social media next to the caption, “future school shooter.”
