New Orleans police are looking for a suspect wanted in connection with a robbery that took place around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, authorities announced in a release Sunday.

The victim reported being punched with a closed fist and robbed of his wallet in the 900 block of Dauphine Street, police said.

The man believed to be the perpetrator was observed on surveillance video as he fled northwest on St. Philip Street towards North Rampart, according to the release.

NOPD described him as a black man with a light complexion or a white man with a dark complexion. He has a receding hairline and was wearing blue jeans, white running shoes, and had a white t-shirt hanging over his right shoulder, police said.

A screenshot image of him taken from the surveillance video shows him looking through the victim’s property as he flees the scene, NOPD said.
