One person was shot and five others were robbed with weapons since Wednesday evening, according to reports from New Orleans police. 

The shooting occurred about 8:21 p.m. in the Lower 9th Ward, according to an NOPD report. In that incident, police arrived in the 6200 block of Dauphine Street to discover a 21-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment. 

The first armed robbery occurred in Algiers a few hours earlier. Two 18-year-old men said they were in a vehicle when a man approached and robbed them at gunpoint. The incident occurred about 6:31 p.m. in the 6400 block of Peony Street. A 19-year-old man identified as Lavante Riley was arrested in connection with the incident. Police said Riley and another man argued during the robbery and the two victims fled the scene in the vehicle. 

An armed robbery occurred about an hour later in the Marigny, police said. A 27-year-old woman told police she was approached about 7:21 p.m. by an armed man in the 2200 block of Decatur Street. The man took cash and fled the scene on foot, according to the report. 

Later in the evening a 25-year-old man said he was walking to his vehicle in New Orleans East when two men exited a truck and robbed him at gunpoint. The incident occurred about 11:43 p.m. in the 7900 block of Shamrock Drive. The man said he put his keys on the top of his vehicle and handed over cash. One of the men then fled in the silver, 2012 Nissan Maxima (Plate: XOL614). 

Early Thursday morning a 20-year-old man was stabbed multiple times during a robbery attempt in Central City, according to an NOPD report. The incident occurred about 12:29 a.m. in the 2000 block of Josephine Street, the report said. The man told police he was approached by an unknown man who demanded his property. When he refused, he was stabbed multiple times before the other man fled on foot. The man was taken to an area hospital where he was listed in stable condition. 

In other matters recently handled by local authorities:

• New Orleans police on Wednesday arrested a second man in the stabbing of a 29-year-old woman in the 1200 block of Genois Street in Gert Town over the weekend.

Robert Williams, 23, faces a count of attempted murder in an attack that was reported about 3:50 a.m. Sunday. His arrest came three days after the arrest of the first suspect in the case, Marcus Price, who is also 23.

According to police, the victim was stabbed multiple times in the hands and body during a fight. She was taken to a local hospital in stable condition while the attackers fled. 

• Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies investigated a shooting in Harvey on Thursday morning and a stabbing in Metairie on Wednesday night.

The shooting occurred about 3:20 a.m. at home in the 1200 block of Angus Drive. The Sheriff’s Office said the male victim had non-life threatening injuries.

The stabbing was reported about 10:10 p.m. at an apartment in the 1500 block of Carrollton Avenue. That male victim also had non-life threatening injuries, the Sheriff’s Office said.
