A teenage girl was attacked and robbed in New Orleans East, and another person was the victim of an attempted carjacking, according to the NOPD.
The first incident occurred about 1:50 p.m. Thursday in the 8500 block of Hayne Boulevard, according to an NOPD report. Two people were involved in an argument when one punched the other's 13-year-old sister in the chest, then snatched her cell phone and fled, according to the report.
In the second incident, a 44-year-old woman said she was sitting in her vehicle about 1 a.m. in the 1300 block of Treme Street when a man opened the door and tried to pull her out. The woman said she was able to drive off before the man could take control of her vehicle.
