New Orleans Police identified Darryl Bannister Jr. as the suspect wanted in the April 29 fatal shooting of 27-year-old Desmone Jerome -- also known as rising New Orleans rapper BTY Young'N -- Friday night. 

The NOPD said Bannister, 31, will be arrested and charged with second-degree murder when he is located.

Jerome was shot at a Shell gas station in the 9200 block of Airline Highway around 11 p.m. the night of the shooting. Responding officers found him face up near a gas pump and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bannister previously pleaded guilty to a state racketeering case filed against members of a Pigeon Town street gang known as "The Taliban." Jerome grew up in Pigeon Town.

As part of that case, Bannister admitted his role in a shooting.
