A 28-year-old woman was arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Terrytown on Tuesday night, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said.
Around 9:40 p.m., Raina Johnson was arguing with 27-year-old Tanganica Wallis inside a residence in the 900 block of Monterey Court, JPSO spokesman Lt. Jason Rivarde said. The altercation turned physical, and Johnson allegedly shot Wallis, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Wallis died of a gunshot wound to the head, the Jefferson Parish Coroner’s Office said.
Johnson was apprehended inside the residence, and a firearm also was recovered at the scene, Rivarde said.
An arrest warrant was issued for Johnson, of Harvey, and she was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on one count of second-degree murder.
