The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office has identified the man killed in a shooting in the Upper 9th Ward on Tuesday night.

Travon Williams, 38, was the man shot to death in the 1600 block of Desire Street, according to a spokesman for the office.

Police said that officers responding to a call of gunshots found Williams lying near a restaurant at the corner of Desire Street and North Claiborne Avenue with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
