The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office over the weekend jailed a man suspected of holding up six convenience stores and a hotel during a spree dating back to May.

Deputies arrested Gregory Perriera, 31, following a gunpoint hold-up reported at the Brother's Food Mart in the 8600 block of River Road in Waggaman about 2:40 a.m. Saturday.

Additionally, they booked Perriera with armed robberies at a total of four other Brother's stores in Metairie, Terrytown and unincorporated Westwego between June 7 and July 2, as well as one each at an Inn Town Suites in Metairie and an AMJ Discount in Terrytown on May 21 and May 30, jail records show.

Perriera was also arrested on counts of illegal weapon possession, aggravated assault and for unrelated court attachments.

In Louisiana, a single armed robbery conviction can carry up to 99 years in prison.

Perriera has previously been put in probation in Texas following cases involving grand larceny and illegal drugs, court records show.

At the end of a 2004 case in Jefferson Parish charging him with simple battery and aggravated assault, Perriera received a six-month jail sentence, records show.
