The victim in a fatal shooting near the intersection of N. Prieur Street and Almonaster Avenue has been identified as Wayne Jones, 24.

A man was shot to death in St. Roch on Monday afternoon, and another man was fatally shot in Treme a few hours later, according to the New Orleans Police Department.
The first deadly shooting Monday happened at the intersection of North Prieur Street and Almonaster Avenue, police said, around 5:05 p.m. The male victim, 25, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died on scene, the NOPD said.
The victim was walking with a woman in the area when a person in an unknown vehicle began yelling. The woman said she turned around and saw a gun before hearing two shots.
A red vehicle seen in the area during the incident has been listed as a vehicle of interest.
Shortly before 8 p.m., New Orleans police reported another fatal shooting in the 1100 block of North Roman Street.
Officers responding to the area found a male victim inside a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds, police said. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
The investigation of the shootings are ongoing, and the Orleans Parish Coroner's Office will release the identities of the victims after completing autopsies and notifying their families.

Monday's shootings marked at least the 92nd and 93rd homicides reported in New Orleans this year. There had been 12 slayings in nine separate incidents in June as of Monday night, with police announcing arrests in two of the cases.
