Two men died in separate shootings overnight in New Orleans, police said.

Around 10:20 p.m. Tuesday, officers responded to a call of attempted murder by shooting on Washington Avenue near South Saratoga Street. They found a male victim lying in the street with multiple gunshot wounds, the New Orleans Police Department said in a news release.

The man was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The Orleans Parish coroner will conduct an autopsy to identify the victim and the official cause of death, police said.

A few hours later, around 1:12 a.m., officers responded to another shooting in the 2100 block of North Miro Street. An unresponsive male victim was found with a gunshot wound to the head, NOPD said.

The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.
