A Covington man has been arrested in connection with a rash of car burglaries after he was spotted allegedly using stolen credit cards.

Brandon Joseph Gray, 27, was arrested on Feb. 8 and booked on two counts of bank fraud and one count of simple burglary, according to a release from St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office. Gray was later booked on eight additional counts of burglary in relation to six car burglaries that occurred on Feb. 4, and another three car burglaries four days later.

All of the cars were unlocked, according to deputies, and were parked in the Emerald Forest Condominiums. Items stolen included sunglasses, electronics, shoes, makeup, wallets, purses, cash, credit cards, clothes, perfume, BBQ and kitchen sets, a skateboard and even a pack of gum, according to deputies.

It is unclear whether Gray acted alone, and the investigation is ongoing, deputies said.
