A 74-year-old man was robbed of his wallet after fighting with a man he identified as Anthony Ruffin, 48, near the intersection of Esplanade and North Claiborne Avenues.
The man told police that during the fight, which happened around 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Ruffin knocked him to the ground and took the wallet, which contained cash. Police arrested Ruffin after the victim identified a receipt in the stolen wallet. Ruffin was booked into the jail on charges of simple robbery.

- Christopher Doty, 53, was accused of stabbing a 57-year-old man in the Central Business District around 12:56 a.m. Saturday. An acquaintance of the victim allegedly saw Doty attack the man in100 block of Carondelet Street and flagged down an NOPD officer. The man was transported to a local hospital.
- A 62-year-old man was reportedly robbed in the 3200 block of St. Claude Avenue around 5:38 p.m. Friday. The man and a known suspect were involved in a physical altercation when three unknown people approached. The additional people rummaged through the man's pockets and fled with the man's cash, a pocket knife and two cellphones.
- Someone was shot while in his car around 6:08 a.m. Friday around West Lake Forest, according to the NOPD. The suspect fired into the victim's car while it was parked in the 5100 block of Bundy Road. The victim was transported to an area hospital by private vehicle. The report does not state where the victim was shot or the severity of the wound.
- A 36-year-old man who intended to go out to drinks on Saturday was instead robbed of his wallet in the French Quarter on Saturday. The victim told police that his intended drinking companion was able to snatch his wallet after “aggressively groping” him near the corner of Dauphine and St. Louis Streets at around 4:20 a.m. on Saturday. Shortly afterward, police arrested Maurice Charles, 35, who was booked with theft and possession of cocaine.
