De La Salle High School president Michael Guillot died Sunday after a short battle with cancer, according to a WWL-TV report.

Guillot served as the school's president for the last three years. He was diagnosed with brain cancer just three months ago. He's survived by his wife and four children.

Dr. Myles Seghers was appointed interim president during Guillot's absence.

"As De La Salle moves forward, it will be important that we emphasize how fortunate we are that we had the chance to get to know and be led by this very special person." says Seghers

A memorial Mass will be held on De La Salle's campus Friday at 12:30 p.m.
