The principal at Theodore Roosevelt Middle School in Kenner has been placed on leave after an allegation of sexual harassment, officials said Tuesday.
Dr. Eric Greely was placed on leave Monday, said Sandy Denapolis-Bosarge, a Jefferson Parish School Board member whose district includes Theodore Roosevelt.
A school system spokeswoman refused to comment, saying it is a personnel matter.
A person who answered the phone at the school said Greely was on a "leave of absence" and Assistant Principal Erica Ellis was acting as principal in his stead.
Denapolis-Bosarge said she didn't know the number or type of complaints against Greely. The Kenner Police Department said no criminal complaint had been filed, and a search through Jefferson Parish court records turned up no lawsuits.
The school scored a 40.3 in the state's most recent annual school scoring, giving it a grade of F. In 2016, the school scored 47.2 for a D.
