The long-time deputy director of the French Market Corp. is leaving the agency, though officials have provided few details about her resignation.
Patricia Henry resigned on Monday and will be on paid leave through Friday, which is her last day with the organization, said Brad Howard, spokesman for Mayor Mitch Landrieu’s administration.
Asked about Henry’s departure, French Market Corp. Executive Director Jon Smith said on Tuesday he could not discuss personnel matters. French Market Corp. Board President Demetric Mercadel declined to provide details beyond confirming Henry’s resignation.
Henry, a political appointee, has served as the deputy director of the French Market since 2002. Before that, she was property manager for the Upper Pontabla Building and Restoration Corp for eight years.
The French Market Corp. oversees the six block area from the Upper Pontabla on Jackson Square to the market on North Peters Street.
