District E City Councilman James Gray will hold a public meeting Thursday night to update residents of the Chef Menteur Highway corridor about public safety, the New Orleans East Hospital, street conditions, streetlights, economic development and other topics.

The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. at Suburban Baptist Church, 10501 Chef Menteur Highway.

Joining Gray will be 7th District Police Commander Michael Harrison, New Orleans East Hospital CEO Dr. Mario Garner, Department of Public Works Director Mark Jernigan and Tammy Jackson of Code Enforcement.

Gray will also hold a meeting for Lower 9th Ward residents from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m. May 13 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 5234 N. Claiborne Ave.

Gray, 5th District Police Commander Christopher Goodly and representatives of the departments of Parks and Parkways, Public Works and Code Enforcement will give updates on public safety, street conditions, lights, economic development and other topics of interest.
