A large section of the Lower 9th Ward and a portion of Jefferson Avenue in Uptown may experience low water pressure Wednesday as the Sewerage & Water Board does work in those areas.

Command Construction Co. will be tying in new water lines in the Lower 9th Ward from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., possibly resulting in a loss of water pressure.

The areas affected include North Galvez Street from Tupelo Street to Delery Street; North Johnson, North Prieur, North Miro, North Tonti and North Rocheblave streets from Tupelo to St. Maurice Avenue; and St. Maurice from North Galvez to North Derbigny Street.

On Jefferson Avenue, S&WB customers on the west side of the avenue from Coliseum Street to Tchoupitoulas Street may experience low pressure from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as Cajun Construction Co. ties in water lines in the area as part of the Jefferson Avenue Canal Drainage Project.
