A petition filed by a Metairie lawyer got the wheels turning on a potential recall of Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni.
Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni has released a statement on the recall petition filed against him Wednesday morning.
In it, he promised to respect the result, but reiterated his contention that the sexting allegations against him are a personal matter and restating that he is still capable of doing his job.
The petition came after allegations of sexting with a 17-year-old boy emerged, and many area leaders called for Yenni's resignation.
Yenni, who was the Mayor of Kenner at the time of the incidents, apologized for the "improper texts," but said he wouldn't resign.
The infographic below breaks down what the recall process entails, and what would have to happen before parish officials could potentially take action.
