A petition filed by a Metairie lawyer got the wheels turning on a potential recall of Jefferson Parish President Mike Yenni. 

The petition came after allegations of sexting with a 17-year-old boy emerged, and many area leaders called for Yenni's resignation. 

Yenni, who was the Mayor of Kenner at the time of the incidents, apologized for the "improper texts," but said he wouldn't resign
