Incumbent City Councilwoman Susan Guidry had a commanding lead with nearly 68 percent of the vote as the Louisiana Secretary of State’s Office began reporting results Saturday night.

With 17 out of 80 precincts reporting, Guidry had a total of 3,359 votes while her nearest challenger, Jason Coleman, had only 629, or about 13 percent of the vote.

Trailing those candidates were David Capasso, with 9 percent of the vote, Drew Ward, with 410 percent of the vote and Stephen Gordon, with 140 percent of the vote.
