With more than half of the votes counted, challenger Nakisha Ervin-Knott was threatening to unseat three-term Judge Lloyd Medley in the Orleans Parish Civil District Court race. She had garnered 57 percent of the vote to Medley’s 44 percent, with 245 of 366 precincts reporting.

In Division F, incumbent Judge Chris Bruno held a wide lead over challenger Ruth Ramsey, the sister of New Orleans City Councilwoman Nadine Ramsey, with 62 percent of the vote.

And in the races for the family court judgeships, Bernadette D’Souza appeared to have clinched re-election in a landslide, leading Taetrece Harrison with 81 percent of the vote. The second domestic section seat appeared headed for a runoff between Janet Ahern and Monique Barial.
