NFL playoffs: Host teams are combined 30-2 at home _lowres

GREEN BAY, Wis. — Aaron Rodgers says his injured left calf is feeling better after he had treatment during Green Bay’s bye week.

The Packers quarterback said Tuesday on his weekly radio show on ESPN 540 in Milwaukee that re-injuring the calf in Sunday’s divisional round playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys was not a concern.

“If it happens, it happens. At that point it’s out of my control,” Rodgers said.

The quarterback first hurt the calf three weeks ago in Tampa Bay. He left the regular-season finale against Detroit in the second quarter because of the injury before returning in the third to help the Packers win 30-20.

Green Bay was off Tuesday. Rodgers will be re-evaluated Wednesday to determine the practice plan for the rest of the week.

DT HILL OUT FOR PLAYOFFS: The Seattle Seahawks will be without defensive tackle Jordan Hill for the postseason after he was placed on injured reserve Tuesday. He suffered a severe calf injury while working out last weekend.

Hill suffered a knee sprain in the season finale against St. Louis and was coming back when he injured his calf.

Hill had been a late-season standout with 5½ sacks in the final six games of the regular season.

TEAM CLOSE TO SIGNING GM: The Washington Redskins are close to a deal to bring in Scot McCloughan as general manager, the franchise’s latest major front office shakeup after another losing season.

Redskins-owned radio station ESPN 980 reported that McCloughan met with team owner Dan Snyder for six hours Tuesday and that McCloughan, if hired, would be given final say over the roster.

The Redskins have struggled to come up with the right front office structure for picking and signing players under Snyder’s ownership. This year, team president Bruce Allen had the final authority, and the team went 4-12.

McCloughan is a former GM with the San Francisco 49ers and also worked in the front office with the Seattle Seahawks.
