HAMMOND — Because of severe weather conditions Tuesday, Southeastern Louisiana postponed Tuesday’s scheduled men’s basketball game against UNO to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the University Center.

Wednesday’s game is the Pink Game dedicated to breast cancer awareness and fans are encouraged to wear pink. The first 300 students will receive free food courtesy of Southeastern athletics student marketing and promotions.

Cajuns’ Veal honored

A 2-0 week in the Sun Belt and a 21.0 points per game average helped Louisiana-Lafayette senior Keke Veal earn the Louisiana Sports Writers Association’s women’s state basketball player of the week announced on Tuesday.

Veal and the Cajuns defeated UT-Arlington 59-42, and Texas State 59-47. The Opelousas guard had her eighth game of 20 points or more with 25 against Texas State as the Cajuns clinched their spot in the Sun Belt Conference tournament.

Tech’s Davis out for season

RUSTON — Louisiana Tech coach Eric Konkol announced Tuesday that guard Qiydar Davis will be out for the rest of the season because of a knee injury.

Davis played in seven games this season, averaging 10.6 points and 6.7 rebounds per game.

Konkol said the 6-foot-6 senior will apply for a medical hardship.
