HOUSTON — The University of Louisiana at Lafayette softball team bounced back from Saturday’s loss to Iowa with an 11-0 win in five innings Sunday in the Hilton Plaza Classic.

ULL (2-1) got rolling with a four-run second inning, sparked by Shellie Landry’s first career home run, which put the Cajuns up 2-0. Nerissa Myers added a two-run double to make it 4-0.

ULL added five runs in the fourth, keyed by a two-run single by Brianna Cherry and an RBI single by Sarah Draheim.

Jordan Wallace (2-0) tossed a complete game, allowing two hits, a walk and a hit batter to get the win.

MCNEESE STATE 2, WRIGHT STATE 1: In Los Angeles, McNeese State’s Marissa Koetting connected two-run home run in the bottom of the seventh inning in the Stacey Winsberg Invitational .

McNeese (3-2) trailed 1-0 before Katie Roux led off the bottom of the seventh with a walk. Megan Knippa came in to pinch run, and a sacrifice bunt by Stacey Conley advanced Knippa to second. Koetting followed with a home run over the left field fence to end the game.

Meagan Bond picked up the win in relief of starter Bianca Lilly.

Lilly gave up five hits with five strikeouts in six innings. Bond (2-1) faced three batters in the seventh, gave up one hit and struck out one.
