After two seasons as a starter for Alabama, New Orleans native Landon Collins will further his football career with the New York Giants after being selected No. 33 overall in the second round of the 2015 NFL draft.

Collins was a standout at strong safety for the Crimson Tide, recording 173 tackles over the past two seasons, including 103 during his junior campaign in 2014. He also had five interceptions and three forced fumbles during that span.

The Dutchtown High School alumni chose Alabama over LSU following the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game, eventually developing into a 2014 All-SEC First Team selection under Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban.

Collins will look to bolster a New York secondary that allowed 240.6 passing yards per game last season.
