MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Louisiana-Lafayette men’s basketball team has won 12 consecutive regular-season Sun Belt Conference games.

Making it a baker’s dozen won’t be easy.

In a matchup of division leaders, the West-leading Ragin’ Cajuns (8-8, 2-0) face the East-leading Middle Tennessee (14-2, 3-0), which is on a streak of its own. The Blue Raiders have six in a row.

Former Scotlandville High standout J.J. Thomas leads the Cajuns in scoring at 11.4 points per game, followed by Kadeem Coleby at 10.3 points per game.

Middle Tennessee has four players — Shawn Jones (.578), J.T. Sulton (.545), Marcos Knight (.535) and LaRon Dendy (.510) — who rank among the top six in the Sun Belt in field-goal percentage.

Middle Tennessee has not lost to ULL since March 6, 2005, when the Blue Raiders suffered a 71-57 defeat in the second round of the Sun Belt Championship.
