Weekly wrapup: Harrison wins fourth LWGA Senior title _lowres


Julie Harrison of Baton Rouge, an eight-time Louisiana Women’s Golf Association champion, won her fourth LWGA Senior Championship title with a 36-hole score of 157 last week at Ellendale Country Club in Houma.

Harrison had rounds of 76 and 81 to win the title.

Mary Lynn Stuart of Shreveport (82-80 — 162) was second in the championship flight, while Connie Bousquet of Mandeville (87-77 — 164) was third.

Mandeville’s Mary Capouch was the Super Senior winner, while Julia McKey of Slaughter was the Grand Super Senior champion.

Pam Fossett of Lake Charles (92-78 — 170) won the first flight, followed by McKey (92-82 — 174) and Capouch (90-88 — 178).

Bossier City’s Debbie Magee (99-83 — 182) took the second flight, while Ellen Heidenreich of Raceland (97-88 — 185) was second and Corre Stegall of Choudrant (99-89 — 188) finished third.

Cathy Campbell of New Orleans (102-94 — 196) captured the third flight. Vicki Cella of Shreveport (102-95 — 197) was second, and Sharon Ward of Monroe (102-95 — 197) was third.

Gerry McCool of Abita Springs (106-95 — 201) won the fourth flight. Nancie Wintz of Westlake (107-99 — 206) was second, and Penny Spizale of Lafayette (108-103 — 211) finished third.

OAKBOURNE TOURNEY WINNERS NAMED: Beau Nicolosi and John Thomson won the Oakbourne County Club’s Member Guest tournament last Sunday at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette.
