The team of Danny Nelson and Scott Wilfong fired a 12-under-par to win the second annual Al Michael-Emile Zachariah Memorial “Frantic Finish” Four-Ball tournament at Webb Memorial and Howell Park.

Nelson and Wilfong defeated Chuck Danna and Curtis Ludeke by two shots. Blaine Patin and Wade Gautreau finished second.

The BREC tournament is held annually to remember Michael and Zachariah, who were longtime pro managers at the two courses.

GREEN, RABY TAKE HONORS IN HOWELL PARK TOURNAMENT: Brian Green fired a 2-under-par to post the low front-nine score in the Sunday Howell Park tournament, while Don Raby went even-par for the top back-nine score.

Green and Raby both turned in even-par rounds for the low overall round, and Raby won a playoff to take the title.

MILLER-HOFFMAN-LATHON TEAM WINS HOWELL PARK EVENT: The team of Jason Miller, David Hoffman and Mike Lathon posted a nine-hole score of 4-under-28 to win Thursday’s team best ball, blind draw nine-hole event at Howell Park Golf Course.

BOURQUE WINS PELICAN POINT LGA CHAMPIONSHIP: Aaron Bourque was the overall gross champion in the Pelican Point Ladies Golf Association Championship.

Maria Fairchild won the championship flight, followed by Alice Pierson and Darlene Lee.

Jackie Dennis won the first flight, followed by Suzie Davis and Janelle Waguespack.

ST. TAMMANY TEAM MAKES FINAL FOUR: East St. Tammany All Stars of the PGA Junior Golf League made it to the Final Four for the Gulf States PGA, defeating the Rob Noel Golf Academy in sudden death.

In the Final Four, East St. Tammany lost on the last hole to Jackson, Mississippi, 6.5 to 5.5.

The event was played at Diamondhead on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Jackson advanced to the regionals in Atlanta.
