HAMMOND - Brandon Fortenberry scored 16 points to lead four players in double figures and Southeastern Louisiana pulled away from Blue Mountain (Miss.) College 69-50 in men’s college basketball Monday at the University Center.

Daron Populist and Quin Cooper scored 12 points each for SLU (3-1), while freshman Donovan Ross added 10. Roosevelt Johnson added nine points and 11 rebounds.

UNO 70, TENNESSEE-TEMPLE 57: In New Orleans, the Privateers turned 26 turnovers into 31 points to triumph.

Lovell Cook was the leading scorer for UNO (3-2) with 13 points. Generra Varmall added 12 points, and Albert Peterson scored 11.

NO. 24 MISSISSIPPI STATE 78, LOUISIANA-MONROE 63: In Starkville, Miss., Dee Bost scored 21 points, and freshman Rodney Hood added 20 for Mississippi State (5-1).

Fred Brown led ULM (0-5) with 21 points.

CINCINNATI 71, NORTHWESTERN STATE 43: In Cincinnati, Yancy Gates had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Cincinnati (3-1).

Northwestern State (2-3) suffered a significant loss when senior center William Mosley injured his right knee.

James Hulbin and Shamir Davis led the Demons with 13 points each.

DELGADO 87, HINDS 66: In New Orleans, Melvin Davis led the Dolphins (7-1) with 22 points.


TULANE 86, UNO 39: In New Orleans, Tulane (4-0) made 10-three pointers and Danielle Blagg scored 17 points.

Keri Thomas scored eight points to lead UNO (0-4).

ALABAMA STATE 61, NICHOLLS STATE 57: In Thibodaux, Danielle Gazaway scored 15 points and Alabama State (1-2) outscored Nicholls 34-23 in the second half.

The Colonels (1-2) had five players score in double figures: Sumar Leslie with 15 points; Alisha Allen with 12; and LiAnn McCarthy, KK Babin and Jasmine Hoskins each with 10.

SOUTH ALABAMA 64, NORTHWESTERN STATE 51: In Mobile, Ala., South Alabama used a 10-2 run to open the second half and erase a 1-point Northwestern State halftime lead.

Trudy Armstead had 16 points and 12 rebounds for Northwestern State (1-3).

South Alabama (3-1) had three players score in double figures with Taylor Ammons pacing the way with 16 points.

LSU-SHREVEPORT 69, XAVIER 65: In Shreveport, Simone Brewer scored 14 points to lead three Lady Pilots in double figures in an upset over Xaver, ranked No. 16 in the NAIA. Sharde Henry and Christy Willis each had 13 for LSU-S (2-2).

Xavier (4-2) was led by Jasmine Grant’s 19 points.

HINDS 58, DELGADO 51: In New Orleans, Shaquinta James’ 12 points led Delgado (2-5).
