AUBURN, Ala. (AP) — Auburn coach Tony Barbee says he’s not sure if suspended guards Varez Ward and Chris Denson will play Wednesday night at Alabama.

Barbee said Monday on the Southeastern Conference coaches teleconference that he hasn’t made that decision yet.

He suspended Ward and Denson — his third- and fourth-leading scorers — indefinitely before the Arkansas game for violating team rules. They weren’t on the bench for the game.

Ward is averaging 9.0 points and leads the Tigers in assists. Denson scores 8.5 points a game.

The Tigers have lost five of their last six games and blew a 17-point lead in losing to the Razorbacks.

Alabama coach Anthony Grant says guard Trevor Lacey’s status for the game remains up in the air as well with a sprained right ankle.

After the Alabama game, Auburn concludes its regular season by hosting LSU Saturday.
