CLEVELAND — Despite a second-half rally that yielded 40 points, the New Orleans VooDoo fell 62-46 at the Cleveland Gladiators on Saturday night.
New Orleans slipped to 2-10. Cleveland improved to 11-1.
The VooDoo struggled mightily in the first half and trailed 34-6 at halftime. Rookie quarterback Adam Kennedy, who joined the VooDoo on Tuesday, was 20-of-36 for 224 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for two touchdowns.
Receiver Larry Beavers had seven catches for 116 yards and a touchdown, and he added two kickoff return touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Receiver Courtney Smith added six catches for 55 yards and a touchdown.
The VooDoo hosts Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Smoothie King Center.
