Getting ready for race day
Louisiana Marathon weekend — Jan. 16-18 — is almost here. Check in every day with The Advocate to get set. ... And go online for video links to help with the training.
One of the best ways to improve your running is to work on your cadence, which is how many foot strikes per minute you have. To test yours, count single leg foot strikes for 1 minute. The goal is to be as close to 90 foot strikes per minute as possible. Follow up on Facebook at facebook.com/thelamarathon to view the accompanying video that goes over foot strike drills and how to improve our cadence, or check us out on YouTube.
