Jeff Powell won the individual title and captured the team title with Sam Lavigne at the MGA Chicago Points golf event at Pelican Point.
In the individual standings, Ricky Carter was second; Lavinge finished third; and Tony Frederic and Steve Martin tied for fourth.
Martin and Carter finished second in the team division, while Hubby Lavigne and Keith Albert finished third. Paul Castro and Ryan Schultz were fourth.
PARTIN WINS PELICAN POINT JUNIOR TITLE: Joey Partin fired a 71 to win the Pelican Point Junior Club championship.
Players played 18 holes on the Links Course. Donnie Lacombe Jr. (74) finished second, while Sam Dupeire (77) was third, Trevor Adams (79) finished fourth and Dylan Pastorick (85) was fifth.
LOUISIANA CRUDE WINS RED STICK LEAGUE TITLE: The Louisiana Crude baseball team beat the undefeated Reds 9-4 to win the championship of the Red Stick senior amateur league.
The team was led by Cody Church, who had 14 strikeouts and a home run. Other team members are Gary Blacketter, Jose Gonzales Jr., Alexander Gallardo, Chuck Bailey, John Piland, Randy Patton, Justin Durrett, Christian Gonzales and Bradley Harris.
MADISONVILLE REDHAWKS WIN STATE TITLE: The Madisonville Redhawks went undefeated in tournament play to capture the Cal Ripken 11-year-old state championship. The Redhawks play out of Coquille Playground in Madisonville.
Players include Cole Brown, Alex Valdes, Cameron Smith, Marc Bonnet, Blaine Ammari, Jake Schroder, Cade Landry, Jonathan Balbuena, Reid Passeur, Nathan Mermilliod and Diego Bonnett.
The team is coached by Dana Brown, Louis Passeur and John Schroder.
CHICAGO TEAM EDGES N.O.-BASED SQUAD: Chicago-based RWB Adria defeated CD Motagua of New Orleans 1-0 in the United States Adult Soccer Association national cup semifinals at the Virginia Beach Sportsplex in Virginia.
CD Motagua reached the USASA semifinals by winning the Louisiana Premier League 14/15 season and the USASA Region III national cup qualifiers.
Williams scores two wins at No Problem Raceway: In Belle Rose, Austin Williams took home a pair of trophies at last weekend’s NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at No Problem Raceway. Louisiana racers Craig Bourgeois and Slate Cummings also added NHRA trophies.
Williams, of Burleson, Texas, faced off with Jackson Collier of West Monroe in a dead heat for the Super Comp final round. Both drivers had .022 second reaction times, then clocked in at 8.881 seconds as Williams got the win.
Williams then met Rusty Hall in the Stock final. Williams covered the quarter mile in 11.14 seconds on his 11.13 dial with his ’72 Duster to hold off the quicker Hall in his ’67 Shelby Mustang.
