OXFORD, Miss. (AP) — Mississippi women’s basketball coach Renee Ladner has resigned after five seasons.
The university said Ladner is “stepping down” following a 12-18 season that included a 2-14 record in the Southeastern Conference. The Rebels’ season ended Thursday in the opening round of the SEC tournament after a 67-47 loss to Arkansas.
Ladner had a 70-82 overall record, including a 23-53 record in the SEC.
Ladner said she “will support this program any way I can moving forward.” Ole Miss athletic director Pete Boone said Ladner’s “enthusiasm and positive attitude have been an inspiration to us all, and we will miss her on the bench.”
Ole Miss said a three-person committee, led by associate athletic director Lynette Johnson, will conduct a search for a new coach.
