MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Authorities said two professional athletes have been arrested after a fight outside a Miami Beach nightclub.

Miami Beach Police Detective Vivian Thayer said St. Louis Rams linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar, a former New Orleans Saint, and NBA free agent Donte Greene were arrested early Sunday outside Dream Nightclub in South Beach.

Thayer said the athletes got into a fight outside the club.

Additional details about the altercation were not immediately available. Thayer said no other arrests were made.

Thayer said Dunbar and Greene each face charges of battery and disorderly conduct.

Miami-Dade County jail records did not show either man in custody Sunday afternoon. Details about the bonds they posted were not immediately available.

Dunbar played for the Saints from 2008-11 and was on the team that helped New Orleans win Super Bowl XLIV. He will be playing for defensive coordinator Gregg Williams, who coached him in New Orleans from 2009-11 and was a key figure in the bounty scandal that broke before the 2012 season.

Bills

DAREUS FAILS CONDITIONING TEST: In Pittsford, N.Y., Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus is missing the start of training camp after failing his conditioning test.

Coach Doug Marrone provided the update on Sunday, before the Bills’ first practice in suburban Rochester. Marrone said trainers will work with Dareus to get him in shape so that he can be cleared for practice as soon as possible.

Marrone declined to say whether he’s disappointed, but added he preferred his players reported for camp ready to go.

Dareus was placed on the active/non-football injury list Saturday. It’s the latest offseason setback for the 2011 first-round draft pick.

He faces drug possession charges in Alabama after being arrested in May. Four weeks later, he was charged with reckless endangerment after crashing his 2012 Jaguar during an alleged car race outside Buffalo.

Patriots

TIGHT END BYHAM SIGNS: In Foxborough, Mass., the New England Patriots signed veteran tight end Nate Byham.

The 26-year-old Byham spent the past two seasons with Tampa Bay after his first two seasons with San Francisco. Byham has 11 catches for 83 yards and one touchdown in 29 games since the 49ers drafted him out of Pittsburgh in the sixth round in 2010. Last season, he had three catches for 38 yards in four games with the Buccaneers.

The Patriots have been seeking depth at tight end going into training camp, which begins Wednesday. Rob Gronkowski was a limited participant in minicamp last month as he continued his comeback from a season-ending knee injury last year.
