Blake Caldwell, a junior at Ponchatoula High School, won the Aarowhead Junior Masters Championship held March 23-24 at Santa Maria Golf Club.

Caldwell fired a 3-under-par 69 in the opening round and a 2-under 70 in the second round to win the title. His 139 was the only score below par for the tournament, which was the largest Arrowhead Junior Golf Tournament event this season, featuring over 80 golfers from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Florida.

Caldwell defeated Jacob Bergeron of Slidell by five strokes for the title, while Connor Cavin of Baton Rouge and Micah Goulas of New Iberia tied for third with 1-over-par 145s.

In the boys 11-14-year-old division, Eric Brown of Lake Charles fired a 10-over par 154 to win the title over Jackson Wedgeworth (158) of Soso, Miss.

Sydney Cavin of Baton Rouge (79-80—159) of Baton Rouge won the girls 15-18-year-old division by two strokes over Baton Rouge’s Taylor Thompson.
