Connecticut defeated Louisville 93-60 to win the NCAA women's basketball championship at the New Orleans Arena.
This was the eighth national championship for the Huskies under coach Geno Auriemma.
Connecticut (35-4) was led by Breanna Stewart, who scored 23 points and had nine rebounds, and Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (18 points and nine rebounds).
Connecticut had a 19-0 run in the first half en route to a 48-29 lead at halftime. The Huskies shot 46.2 percent from the field in the half.
Louisville (29-9) was led by Sara Hammond, who scored 13 points.
