NAPLES, Fla. — The seventh-ranked LSU men’s golf team outlasted No. 6 Vanderbilt to win the team title Monday in the Talis Park Challenge.

LSU finished at 14-under 838, four strokes ahead of Vanderbilt.

Wichita State was third in the at 850, Texas A&M fourth at 858, and Northern Illinois 869.

Ben Taylor and Eric Ricard tied for eighth in the individual standings at 3-under 210 for the Tigers, who won their third team title this season.

Chris Selfridge of Toledo was the top golfer at 207.


LSU gymnast Lloimincia Hall shared Southeastern Conference Specialist of the Week recognition Tuesday with Florida’s Bridget Sloan.

Hall earned a 10.0 on the floor in No. 3 LSU’s tri-meet victory at Centenary and against New Hampshire.

It is the second week in a row Hall has scored a 10 on floor.

LSU men’s tennis ranked No. 23

The LSU men’s tennis team (13-3, 3-2 Southeastern Conference) is ranked No. 23 in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association NCAA Division I men’s rankings.

It’s the Tigers first Top 25 ranking this season.

LSU joins Georgia (5), Texas A&M (7), Ole Miss (13), Florida (15) and Vanderbilt (17) as the six SEC teams in the Top 25.
