Wake Forest at Louisiana-Monroe

WHEN: 6:02 p.m. Thursday

WHERE: JPS Field at Malone Stadium (30,427), Monroe

TV: ESPNU

SERIES: ULM leads 1-0

LATEST ODDS: Wake Forest -2.5, Over/Under 45.5.

STAT THAT MATTERS: During the 2013 season, Wake Forest finished 1-5 on the road, with its only victory coming at Army on Sept. 21.

NOTES: When the Warhawks stare up into the crowd Thursday night, they’ll see an opening night sight that they haven’t witnessed in seven years — a home atmosphere. The last time ULM opened the season in their own stadium, they played Tulsa on Aug. 30, 2007. That should bode well for ULM, considering it was able to win last season’s matchup against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It’ll be interesting to see how the Warhawks perform on their brand new turf at Malone Stadium.

Missouri State at Northwestern State

WHEN: 6 p.m. Thursday

WHERE: Turpin Stadium, Natchitoches

TV: None.

SERIES: Northwestern State leads 2-1

STAT THAT MATTERS: Last season, Northwestern State senior quarterback Zach Adkins completed 24-of-37 passes for 233 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions against Missouri State.

NOTES: After Thursday night, Adkins will have made two opening night starts for the Demon Deacons. Both will have been against Missouri State. In last season’s 23-17 victory against the Bears, Adkins used 10 different receivers, though he threw two interceptions in the Missouri State red zone in the first half. Adkins will look to be more efficient in round two on Thursday.
