MONROE — Larrie Williams tied a career-high with 21 points to help Louisiana-Monroe to a 78-68 women’s college basketball victory over Nicholls State for the Warhawks’ first win of the season.

Jasmine Shaw had 18 points and six rebounds, while Elizabeth Torres added 13 points, six rebounds and six assists for ULM (1-8).

Alisha Allen had 24 points and five rebounds, while Suma Leslie added 23 points for Nicholls State (2-5). Former St. Michael star KK Babin had 14 pionts and six rebounds.

LOUISIANA COLLEGE 105, SUL ROSS 60: In Pineville, Roslyn Wilmer had 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Louisiana College forced 40 turnovers, including 17 steals in an American Southwest Conference game.

Natosha Gottlieb had 16 and four steals; Melody Criswell had 14, eight rebounds and two blocks; and Shaina Howard scored 13 points for Lousiiana College (6-1, 4-0 ASC). Skylar Chenevert added nine points and nine rebounds.

Krista Ford led Sul Ross (1-5, 0-4) with 28 points, including shooting 13-of-14 from the line, and eight rebounds.

XAVIER 56, SHORTER 51: In New Orleans, Bandi Young scored 10 of her 12 points in the second half for Xavier.

Grant and SiMon Franklin scored 10 points apiece for the Gold Nuggets (7-3), ranked 16th in NAIA Division I.

Kelly Ellison, the NAIA leader in assists per game, had 14 points, seven rebounds, eight assists and three steals for Shorter (8-1), ranked No. 21.

LOYOLA 66, EMMANUEL 51: In New Orleans, Keiva Council and Amy Moody each scored 15 points for Loyola (8-1, 3-1 Southern States Athletic Conference).

Kaylan Young had 17 points for Emmanuel (4-6, 0-3).

SPRING HILL AT SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA: In Hammond, Southeastern Louisiana returns home to host Spring Hill College at 3 p.m. Sunday in the University Center.

Kelli Jenkins averages 9.3 points and Brandi Simmons adds 8.4 ppg to lead Southeastern (3-4).

LaSheena Nation paces Spring Hill (3-4) with 12.3 ppg, and April Bradford adds 11.0 ppg.
