Nick Daniel of Covington shot 8-under-par 64 in Friday's final round to claim the 59th LGA junior amateur championship by a shot over Zachary's Brady Bennett at Links on the Bayou.

Daniel posted rounds of 72-73-64 to finish at 7-under 209. He trailed by eight shots entering the final day, but his closing round included nine birdies. His score was the lowest of the tournament and the lowest final-round score shot by a LGA junior amateur champion since the organization began using online scoring in 2004.

Bennett ground out a 1-over 73 on the final day to finish at 6-under. Behind him were Slidell's Zachary Barrios (5-under), Baton Rouge's Parker Johnson (5-under), Mathews' Nicholas Arcement (4-under) and Gretna's Nolan Lambert (4-under).

Daniel's sister Abbey is the reigning LWGA junior amateur champion.
