NEW ORLEANS — Jordan Callahan scored 15 points and Ricky Tarrant had eight of his 10 in the second half to lead Tulane to a 59-51 men’s college basketball victory over Jacksonville State on Sunday night.

The Green Wave (11-1) never trailed in the second half after a first half in which there were 10 lead changes. Tulane’s lead reached 12 points, 37-25, with 13:08 remaining, but the Gamecocks (3-7) used a 13-3 run to pull within 40-38, getting seven points from Brian Williams and a pair of 3-pointers by Tarvin Gaines.

Josh Davis’ jumper gave Tulane a 54-49 lead with 2:03 remaining, and Jacksonville State was unable to score on its next five possessions, missing four shots and committing a turnover.

Davis had 11 rebounds for Tulane.

Williams finished with 21 points for the Gamecocks.

Women

ULL 63, SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA 54, OT: In Lafayette, Louisiana-Lafayette outscored Southeastern Louisiana 14-5 in overtime.

Kemi Rotibi led ULL (4-4) with 21 points, nine rebounds and four blocked shots.

Kelli Jenkins led the Lady Lions (4-5) with 11 points, four assists and three steals.

LOUISIANA TECH 63, MISSISSIPPI STATE 62: In Ruston, Jasmine Bendolph scored 12 points as Louisiana Tech (4-6) upset Mississippi State.

Diamber Johnson scored 25 points, and Porsha Porter added 23 for MSU (7-2).

BIRMINGHAM SOUTHERN 76, UNO 61: In Birmingham, Ala., Caroline King scored 21 points for Birimingham Southern (4-3).

Yosha Watson lead UNO (0-9) with 21 points, eight steals and nine rebounds.

NICHOLLS STATE 69, TEXAS SOUTHERN 48: In Houston, Alisha Allen paced Nicholls (4-5) with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Former St. Michael star KK Babin had 18 points.

Kayla West scored 15 points for TSU (1-5).
