The New Orleans VooDoo’s season came to an end Saturday with a 71-42 loss to the to the Orlando Predators at the Amway Center in Orlando.

With the victory, the Predators clinched the final playoff spot in the Arena Football League’s American Conference.

Orlando (7-11) opened the scoring on a 20-yard touchdown pass from Aaron Garcia to Prechae Rodriguez.

The VooDoo (5-12) countered as receiver Larry Beavers returned a kick 58 yards for a touchdown.

On the Predators’ second drive, Garcia connected with Maurice Williams on a 31-yard score. The VooDoo responded as Dixon completed a 15-yard TD pass to Donovan Morgan to tie the score at 14 at the end of the first quarter.

Garcia connected with T.T. Toliver for a 3-yard touchdown pass to give the Predators a 21-14 lead in the second quarter. Orlando scored two more touchdowns in the quarter as Mykel Benson ran in from a yard out, and Mark Lewis also added a field goal.

The VooDoo got a 9-yard pass from Dixon to WR L.J. Castille, but the Predators secored two seconds left in the half on a 3-yard pass from Garcia Maurice Williams to close out the first half with Orlando leading 37-28.

In the third quarter, Garcia, who threw for 375 yards on Saturday, eclipsed the 5,000-yard mark in a season for the first time in his career. He finished the regular season with 5,169 yards.

Garcia found Toliver and Prechae Rodriguez for touchdowns in the third quarter, and Dixon connected with Morgan from 25 yards out to give the Predators a 50-35 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

Orlando broke the game open in the fourth quarter as Garcia connected with Williams for a score to start the scoring.

New Orleans got a touchdown from Dixon in the fourth quarter.
