The Sun Belt Conference chief executive officers and athletic directors unanimously agreed to embrace the NCAA Board of Directors’ actions regarding cost of attendance and the awarding of multiyear scholarships.

The institutional administrators agreed that each university will determine how cost of attendance and multiyear scholarships will be administered on each campus.

This agreement was made based on the complexity of issues regarding gender equity, financial considerations and availability of various scholarships.

The Sun Belt Conference will not interfere with a university’s handling of these issues, so long as they remain in compliance with NCAA rules.

The decisions by the Sun Belt Conference institutional administrators came after a series of conversations regarding the topics that began before to the Fall Meeting and concluded Wednesday. The NCAA Board of Directors adopted the proposals last week.
