The Arena Football League announced Sunday that the New Orleans VooDoo and the Las Vegas Outlaws have ceased operations immediately.

The players from both teams will be placed into an offseason assignment process for next season.

The VooDoo finished the season with a 3-14-1 record. The team lost to the Jacksonville Sharks 36-33 in its last game on Saturday.

The VooDoo defeated the Tampa Bay Storm 65-53 in their final home game of the season on July 25 in the New Orleans Arena.

The Arena Football League took over the operations for the VooDoo on July 20.
