A goal to end the first half and another to start the second half proved to be the undoing for the New Orleans Jesters in a a 2-1 loss to Southeast Conference rival Atlanta on Wednesday night at Pan American Stadium.

The Jesters took the lead in the in the 44th minute on a rocket left foot shot by Oliver Roberts that beat the Atlanta keeper to make it 1-0.

New Orleans (4-3-2) looked like they would head to the locker room with that lead. But the Silverbacks got a late corner which led to a free kick by Joao Johanning Mora that he put in the net in stoppage time.

The second half started with another disaster. A miscommunication between Chad Collins and Adele Olummuyiwa led to the ball ending up on the foot of Thierry Jules who found an open goal for the game-winner.

The Jesters next host Chattanooga FC at 7 p.m. Saturday at Pan American Stadium.
