Sam Houston State and Southeastern Louisiana, two teams that finished tied for first in the Southland Conference this season, will play each other in the first round of the FCS playoffs.

The playoff bracket was released Sunday in a broadcast on ESPNU.

SLU (9-3, 7-1) will play at Sam Houston State (8-4, 7-1) on Saturday at 1 p.m. The winner of the game will play at No. 3 Jacksonville State on Dec. 6. The FCS championship game is scheduled for Jan. 10

SLU finished the regular season with a three-game winning streak. The Lions defeated Nicholls State 62-3 in their final regular-season game last Thursday.

Sam Houston State finished the regular season with a five-game winning streak. The Bearkats defeated Central Arkansas 38-31 in its last regular-season game on Saturday.
