YOUNGSVILLE — For the first two innings, the Acadiana Cane Cutters couldn’t get the offense rolling against the Texas Marshals in a Texas Collegiate League on Saturday night.

The Marshals (3-9) got three runs in the first inning and their defense was stellar heading to the third. The Marshals’ defense failed in the third, however, with two errors in the outfield, allowing two Cane Cutters to score.

The Cane Cutters (5-3) got runs in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth innings, including an RBI double from Daniel Keating as Acadiana picked up the 6-0 win.

Despite a solid two opening innings from Marshals pitcher Dylan Porter, the Cane Cutters rocked him for 12 hits. Acadiana pitchers held the Marshals scoreless after the first inning.

The Cane Cutters and Marshals will finish the two-game series at 7 p.m. Sunday.
