JACKSON, Miss. — The Louisiana-Lafayette women’s basketball team defeated Jackson State 81-64 on Monday night, the Ragin’ Cajuns’ first regular-season regulation road win since 2012.
The Cajuns (3-2) were led by sophomore guard Keke Veal, who scored a season-high 18 points, and freshman Braile Fields, who had all of her career-high 13 points in the first half.
The Cajuns’ previous regulation regular-season road win was Nov. 9, 2012, a 71-69 victory at Southern. UL-Lafayette defeated North Texas in double overtime March 8 at the Sun Belt tournament and Tulane in overtime Dec. 19, 2012.
The Cajuns next host Xavier of New Orleans at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Cajundome.
