Baton Rouge native and former Major League Baseball player Darryl Hamilton was found dead Sunday in an apparent murder-suicide in the Houston area, according to the Houston Chronicle.

According to the Pearland Police Department, the Chronicle said the bodies of Hamilton, 50, and Monica Jordan, 44, were found in Jordan's home. Investigators reportedly believe Hamilton was shot multiple times, and Jordan died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Hamilton, who prepped at University High and is in the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame, played baseball at Nicholls State. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in 1986.

Besides the Brewers, the talented outfielder played for the San Francisco Giants, New York Mets, Texas Rangers and Colorado Rockies from 1988 until 2001.
