VooDoo to hold open house

NEW ORLEANS — The New Orleans VooDoo Mercedes-Benz Superdome Open House will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Season-ticket holders can find their seat in the Superdome’s seating arrangement and field configuration before the VooDoo moves into the Superdome for the remainder of the season. The VooDoo staff will be available to answer questions.

Ticket sales representatives will be on hand to help others find a seat and claim it for the season.

The open house will last until the doors open to the New Orleans Arena for the VooDoo’s home game against the Pittsburgh Power and former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson.

Parking will be as normal in the Superdome. Fan Fest will be on Girod Street between the Dome and the Arena.

Entry for the open house will be through the Loading Dock Entrance on Girod Street.

Nicholls hires Loyola volleyball coach

THIBODAUX — Nicholls State Athletics Director Rob Bernardi announced the hiring of Tommy Harold as coach of the Colonels women’s volleyball program Monday. Harold’s hiring is pending approval by the University of Louisiana System Board of Supervisors.

Harold spent the past decade with the Loyola-New Orleans program, where he had eight seasons with 20 or more wins and an overall record of 207-113 (.647).
